The Winklevoss twins say they are in talks with Facebook about joining the Libra Association.

ANNONS

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have a quite messy past with each other.

The conflict stems from the fact that the twins in 2004 sued the Facebook founder for $65 million for stealing their idea for a social network for universities in the United States.

But despite the previous conflict, the Winklevoss twins, who have founded and run the US crypto exchange Gemini, do not seem to want to close the door to cooperation with their old rival.

In talks

In an interview with CNN, the twins now say that they may want to partner with Facebook regarding their planned cryptocurrency libra.

In fact, the twins have already been in talks with the social media giant about joining the Libra Association, which is the consortium that will govern the whole project.

Whether the collaboration becomes reality remains to be seen, but the Winklevoss twins are at least convinced that libra is something good for the crypto industry.

“I think there is a day in the future where we can’t live without crypto, or imagine a world before crypto”, Cameron Winklevoss says to CNN.
