A couple in the US sold drugs for cryptocurrency on the darknet. Now they risk both fines and really long prison sentences.
A couple in California have admitted to selling cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana on the darknet.
The pair are said to have gotten paid for the drugs in cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin and bitcoin cash, according to a press release from the US Department of Justice.
The verdict against the couple comes in November. The man in the relationship risks 40 years in prison and a $5 million fine.
The man’s girlfriend reportedly served as a courier and faces five years in prison and $250,000 in fines, Cointelegraph reports.
