Daily crypto: Prices are soaring and 18 percent of American students own cryptocurrencies

According to a new survey by the American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, 42 percent of the top 50 U.S. universities offer at least one class on cryptocurrency and blockchain.

The survey, in which 675 U.S. students participated, also shows that 18 percent of them stated that they own some form of cryptocurrency.

“It’s a pretty exciting time. It feels like the beginning of something”, says Dan Boneh, a computer science professor at Stanford University, to Coindesk.

Eos has increased the most

The crypto markets continue to go up.

The cryptocurrency among the biggest ones that have increased the most during the last 24 hours is eos (+11,08%). In fact, the cryptocurrency also performed second best on the top 100 list. The rise in price comes after the announcement that a voting system for a new eos savings account would be created and that this now has reached $35 million worth of tokens, Cryptodigest reports.

Also, ethereum (+2,47%), bitcoin (+2,04%) and bitcoin cash (+1,89%) have performed well during the last 24 hours.

The cryptocurrencies on top 100 that performed the best were holo (+27,34%) and eos (+11,08%), and the ones that performed the worst were substratum (–11,02%) and nano (–6,09%).
