The new cryptocurrency will be called "McAfee Freedom Coin" and be completely disconnected – both from traditional currencies and from cryptocurrencies.

The eccentric cybersecurity pioneer and crypto celebrity John McAfee has announced that he plans to release his own independent cryptocurrency called “McAfee Freedom Coin”. This according to his website, Cointelegraph reports.

According to the website, the new cryptocurrency will be launched sometime this fall. The purpose seems to be to achieve “economic freedom” by creating a currency that is completely independent of the traditional markets.

“It is not based on any commodity nor is it connected to the value or behavior of any external item or entity. The value of the coin will always be zero in relation to any other currency yet its natural market value is free, completely, to grow”, it says on the website.

According to McAfee, the new currency will be completely disconnected, both from traditional currencies and from cryptocurrencies, while people at the same time should be able to use it everywhere, Cointelegraph reports.
