Ethereum founder wrote graphic blog post about sex with eleven-year-old girl

The British programmer Gavin Wood, who is also co-founder and former CTO of the cryptocurrency ethereum, has gotten some attention lately.

This after it became known that he wrote a graphic blog post in 2013 about how he had sex with an 11- or 12-year-old girl who was dying of AIDS, Buzzfeed reports.

Says he wanted to spark debate

Wood has confirmed for Buzzfeed that he authored the blog post but argues that it was all fiction and that the purpose was to spark debate.

“My blog posts at the time were meant to provoke intellectual debate and discussion around generally taboo subjects like the nature of consent. Nothing about it should be taken as indicative of my personal position”, Wood writes in a statement to Buzzfeed.
