The crypto markets have increased slightly in the last 24 hours. Currently, about 55 of the 100 biggest cryptocurrencies show gains from yesterday.
The market cap of all cryptocurrencies has risen approximately $2 billion in the last 24 hours – from $209 billion yesterday to $211 billion today.
Xrp increases the most
Among the biggest cryptocurrencies, we see gains for all of them over the last 24 hours. We see smaller increases for bitcoin (+0,41%), ethereum (+0,48%), bitcoin cash (+0,61%) and eos (+0,32%) over the past day. However, xrp (+2,71%) is showing a larger increase in price, almost three percent.
It has been speculated that xrp’s rise is due to the fact that the crypto exchange Coinbase has been approved by the U.S. authorities to store new cryptocurrencies in cold storage, which is a digital wallet that is not connected to the internet.
Previously, Coinbase has been able to offer storage for its customers for bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, ethereum classic and litecoin. But now the crypto exchange can also offer secure custody of xrp.
Bitcoin, currently the biggest cryptocurrency, is at the time of writing trading at $6,504 and has a total market cap of $113 billion.
On the top 100 list for cryptocurrencies, the ones that performed the best during the last 24 hours were genesis vision (+18,52%) and mobilego (+14,88%), and the ones that lost the most were metaverse etp (-11,21%) and ravencoin (-9,36%).
