According to a source, a large American securities brokerage could now be close to launching cryptocurrency trading.
The American online securities brokerage E-trade is about to introduce cryptocurrency trading on its platform. This says a source familiar with the matter to Bloomberg.
Initially, the idea is that the online brokerage will add the possibility to trade bitcoin and ethereum, but more cryptocurrencies may be added. E-trade themselves declined to comment on the matter.
If E-trade allows its customers to trade cryptocurrencies, they would be one of the world’s largest securities brokerages to allow this. It could also legitimize cryptocurrency trading for skeptical investors, Bloomberg reports.
