The world's biggest cryptocurrency keeps climbing.
Bitcoin has reached its highest market cap in 17 months, data from Coinmarketcap shows. The total market cap of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency is now over $200 billion. The last time we saw such figures was in March 2018, just before the bear market hit.
The new milestone comes after the value of one bitcoin climbed over $10,000 during the weekend, and then stabilized at around $11,000 at the beginning of this week.
Bitcoin’s market cap is now 60 percent of the market cap of all cryptocurrencies. So dominant towards the “altcoins” bitcoin has not been since 2017, reports Cointelegraph.
Some experts believe that the price of bitcoin will continue upwards from here. One analyst speculates that the price will end the year at its highest mark ever.
