Over the past two weeks, the bitcoin price has dropped steadily. From having peaked at $13,200 around July 10, the price has declined by several thousand dollars.

During Tuesday morning (CEST), the price even dropped below $10,000 – down to $9049, according to numbers from Bitstamp.

This corresponds to a decline of over 31 percent in two weeks.

Prices of altcoins are also declining

However, the bitcoin price bounced back a bit after the decline and a bitcoin is currently trading at just above $10,000.

Also xrp has decreased in value by over four percent over the last 24 hours, while litecoin has fallen by almost seven percent, according to Coinmarketcap.
