Binance will delist the trading pairs for bitcoin SV on April 22, but users will be able to withdraw the cryptocurrency until July 22.

Binance, the world’s biggest crypto exchange by trading volume, has announced that they will delist bitcoin SV, the cryptocurrency created by the controversial person Craig Wright. This is according to a press release from the exchange.

The announcement came after Wright, during recent weeks, threatened to sue prominent crypto profiles for claiming that he is not bitcoins creator Satoshi Nakamoto, Coindesk writes.

In recent years, Wright has claimed that he is the creator of bitcoin. But the evidence he has presented for this claim has been very controversial.

More crypto exchanges follow suit

Binance will delist the trading pairs for bitcoin SV on April 22, but users will be able to withdraw the cryptocurrency until July 22.

The American crypto exchange Shapeshift announced late on Monday that they too will delist bitcoin SV, according to a tweet from the exchange’s founder Erik Voorhees.

Also, the San Francisco-based crypto exchange Kraken has indicated that they are considering delisting the cryptocurrency and has created a vote on Twitter on the matter, Coindesk reports. At the time of writing, 72 percent have voted that they want to delist bitcoin SV.

Bitcoin SV has declined over 20 percent in the last 24 hours.
