Canadian town lets residents pay their property taxes in bitcoin
The Canadian municipality of Richmond Hill has entered into an agreement with the crypto company Coinberry.
Bitfinex writes that the interruption should not affect the users' crypto wallets.
It was on Thursday that the Hong Kong-based crypto exchange Bitfinex announced on Twitter that they stopped all crypto trading.
The reason for the stop is stated to be that they are undergoing “unscheduled maintenance” of the exchange.
Bitfinex also writes that the interruption should not affect the users’ crypto wallets and also promises to keep all traders updated on what is happening.
We are undergoing unscheduled maintenance with trading temporarily halted. All wallets remain unaffected and all traders will be kept informed of updates as and when they are available. Thank you for your patience.

On the Bitfinex status page, it says that they are currently “investigating the issue”.
Several different types of cryptocurrency, primarily xrp, were stolen in the attack against Bitpoint.
Steve Mnuchin is not the first politician to have bad things to say about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
