The Canadian municipality of Richmond Hill has entered into an agreement with the crypto company Coinberry.

On Tuesday, US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin attacked bitcoin and said that the cryptocurrency could be used for tax evasion.

In the United States northern neighbor Canada, they have a slightly different approach. At least in the municipality of Richmond Hill located outside Toronto.

Agreement with crypto company

After Richmond Hill signed an agreement with crypto company Coinberry, the municipality’s residents will now be able to pay their property taxes in bitcoin.

The ability to pay other taxes with bitcoin is currently being investigated by Richmond Hill, Cointelegraph reports.

Last week, NFL team the Miami Dolphins made litecoin their official cryptocurrency. You can read about that here.
